Girl meets world girl meets first date full episode youtube

Riley Matthews is the main character and title character of Girl Meets World. She is the fourteen-year-old daughter of Cory and Topanga Matthews. Riley and Auggie Matthews are Cory and Topanga's only children, of which Riley is the oldest of the two. Riley is bubbly, outgoing, cheerful, optimistic, intelligent, and slightly awkward, and while she is also sensitive, she is not afraid to voice her opinion about things, and will readily stand up for her friends and family.

Girl Meets World - Girl Meets First Date [Season Finale] (1)

Maya may have been giving 84 percent on her date with Farkle, but Girl Meets World's season finale wasn't quite there. As a standalone episode, "Girl Meets First Date" was pretty fun, offering some good character moments and a few clever lines, but it didn't do much to get us excited about next season -- unless you count Riley and Lucas kinda sorta getting together at the end, but even that wasn't surprising.

Giving, like, 84 percent. Unfortunately, that wasn't really the case. Instead, the episode just kind of ended , with no real big revelations or shakeups in play -- despite the characters constantly saying there were. That's not to say the finale was a disappointment, it just didn't resonate as much as previous episodes.

The cold open, for example, was extremely hokey, as Cory stalled class yet again to discuss the group's personal lives in front of the entire class. While Girl Meets World has made good strides this year with the family dynamic, the classroom scenes remain a constant weak point. However, this episode picked up once Riley and Maya began planning their strategy to get Riley and Lucas set up on a date.

I especially dug how Maya switched the gender roles a bit, telling Riley, "This isn't the '90s anymore. You want something? Go get it! Alas, that aspect of "Girl Meets First Date" didn't last long, as Lucas arrived at the Matthews' apartment to ask for Cory's "blessing" to date Riley -- kind of a step backwards in terms of flipping the script, but whatever. It did at least give the writers a chance to get the whole Matthews family involved, which is usually a plus.

While Lucas and Cory's dynamic was obvious, I did enjoy Topanga recalling her own first date with Cory -- specifically her poking fun at how their love story had been retconned so many times over the course of Boy Meets World. I personally subscribe to the "threw socks in a laundry basket" story as their official first date. As for the date itself -- or, rather, double date -- it had its moments but overall was only okay.

The callback to the first time Riley and Lucas met -- by Maya pushing Riley into Lucas's lap on the subway -- was a nice touch, and their first kiss was pretty sweet too though predictable. I also enjoyed the pairing between Maya and Farkle, particularly Farkle kissing Maya's hand and Maya nodding, impressed, "Not bad, Farkle," and Farkle shooting back, "Tell your friends.

Seriously, Maya, you're just gonna leave Farkle high and dry like that? That's not to mention the fact that we didn't even get to see the date in question, just the subway ride to it. Ultimately, the title of the episode was kind of misleading. Granted, there were a few cute lines between the "bride and groom," but not really enough to warrant the valuable screen time. In the end, "Girl Meets First Date" was another fine episode but hardly the stuff season finales are made of, regardless of who kissed who.

Verdict Maya may have been giving 84 percent on her date with Farkle, but Girl Meets World's season finale wasn't quite there. Girl Meets World's season finale was good but somewhat anticlimactic. The series centers around the life of a young teen girl, Riley Matthews, and her friends and family, particularly their school life, in which her father Cory is their history teacher. Riley shares a strong relationship with her best friend Maya Hart, who assists her in learning to cope with the social and personal issues of adolescence.
